Wilson set to race
Justin up for ChampCar finale
|
10/11/2006 - Justin Wilson, the inaugural Formula Palmer Audi champion and elder brother of current FPA racer Stefan, will take part in today's practice and qualifying sessions for the final round of the ChampCar World Series in Mexico City.
The Yorkshireman, who broke a bone in his right wrist after clipping a tyre barrier at Surfers' Paradise three weeks ago, completed a test run of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez yesterday with only minimal discomfort.
Despite this, Wilson will still have to undergo checks from the ChampCar medical team after every session to ensure he can continue to compete. Wilson needs only finish in the top seven to take second place in the championship, ahead of A.J. Allmendinger, who has defected to NASCAR.
No doubt Justin will also be keeping an eye on the progress of little brother Stefan, who will be racing at Brands Hatch for the first time this weekend in the FPA Autumn Trophy finale. After a top-six finish in his first-ever car race at Snetterton last weekend, Stefan is well-placed to score highly this time around. To see Stefan in action, make your way down to Brands Hatch this weekend!
Race day tickets for the Formula Palmer Audi Autumn Trophy at Brands Hatch this weekend will be available on the gate and are priced at £12. Children aged 12 and under are admitted free.
