Oulton Park's Nadine Lewis is named marshal of the year
Chief incident marshal scoops prestigious award
08/03/2010 - Northwich-based marshal Nadine Lewis was crowned Marshal of the Year at the annual Motor Sports Association (MSA) awards ceremony in London last month, and in doing so became the first woman to win the award.
Nadine volunteered for her first event more than a decade ago, and has been regularly donating her spare time ever since.
"I was hooked the moment a TVR landed at my feet! It has become a hobby for me now. I have had a love for the sport and the spectacle it provides for as long as I can remember," she said.
After 13 years of experience, Nadine has now become the chief incident marshal at Oulton Park and is also responsible for encouraging newcomers to get involved.
In addition to the award from the MSA, The British Motorsport Marshals Club also presented her with the Unipart Trophy for the best marshal of the year.
"I wanted to find a way to get involved and this was just perfect for me."
The first Oulton Park event of 2010 takes place on 27 March with the British Automobile Racing Club. Adult tickets cost from £10 with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
